    You referring to CPS?? https://www.usa.canon.com/pro/canon-professional-services/cps-gold-membership
I assume it is located somewhere when you log in as well as was in you membership kit. I am not sure if anyone here has joined.
Canon forums is a sister project of PentaxFourms which has been around for decades, I think i been on Pentax myself for 25 years as i joined in High school. We are a community of professionals, enthusiasts and amateurs in the space where you can come to discuss and share things canon. This is not a forum ran by the company.

There is no membership number, it is tied to your email address account you log in with. You do register your products serial number in the portal, so unless you unlock and pay for CPS I do not see them generating any special membership number.
Also I can't imagine they need anything for a printer other than the serial number on the package/bottom of printer.

Did they ask for a membership number in an email or something?? I am just tryig to make sure there was not a misunderstanding between the rep on the email/call and you. I sent my 20d for service 15years ago and only needed to give them my serial number and my email address/ shipping address etc... that is filled out in the support portal. Clearly I have not had to deal with them recently so i am not the best example, maybe someone else can jump in who has worked with canon support in the last year or two.

Hey, Roger like myself just created a basic account under his email so to submit printer issues. Hey is not a CPS subscriber, as noted i have a basic support account as well for probably 15 years now.

If i click on membership it asks me to upgrade to CPS, if i click profile it just has my address. I have no idea where there is any membership number in the portal and I don't believe they send membership cards to to users of the support site that don't purchase CPS.

I would love to know if i am missing something :)

I'm sorry, the OP did not offer enough info for me to respond helpfully.
