R6mk2 battery

    Why is it that my R6 eats up battery power? Far quicker than my old DSLR 6d2. Any comments will be appreciated.

    My guess is the EVF is the primary culprit, it makes sense that mirror-less cameras are not just powering the back screen for image display like your dslr, but consistently powering the viewfinder with an electronic image now that don't have a prism and mirror anymore. There may be some other features like off the top of my head continuous auto focus that would keep the camera thinking as well.

    The EVF only operates when you put your eye up close, I will check the continuous Auto focus. But many thanks for your reply.

    yes i have the M50 and the "continuous AF" in the menu section keeps the camera focusing even when you not using it, that gets turned off
    its not the same as the 'servo mode" continuous auto focus" which is what you use while shooting
    its probably similar in the R6
