April Monthly Photo Challenge - Still Life

Now I see that you are missing the background that I used, and I hear that there has been a shortage of the stuff in your part of the world.

Well done on using a flash unit. So far I think everyone has just used natural light.

some bulbs, canon 15-35 and a couple of led torches with homemade sharpie strips for colour, thought i better post something before i miss april

 

Lots of creativity and imagination used to create those shots. Very well done and I like them very much.

 

I like the subject matter but more so for the use a light source other than natural light or a flash, a top notch effort.

 

thanks, i have ordered some speed lights but i see they are coming from china where as i thought they were local (uk) so i'm making do with cobbling stuff
I also might have to look at getting a varible output constant light or making something like that also.
I do have lots of interesting items around the house perfect for still life but its thinking of the composition rather than 'just a picture' of the item.

 

With time on my hands, I have revisited a couple of ideas for the still life and redesigned the layout and pinched an idea from Caladina and threw a bit of blue light on the subjects.
I have had this camera and lenses for about 6 months now.
It was a Christmas Present to myself. I have a Mamiya C3 which give medium format negative that are 6cm * 6cm, square format, the Mamiya 645 uses 120 film but the 645 give 6cm * 4.5 cm a bit better for landscape photos.

It is nice to use but heavy compared to a regular 35mm camera.
The 28mm lens that come with it is very wide compared to my 35mm film and digital lenses and is very sharp.
I purchased an adapter to use them on my digital cameras but placed on the digital camera, they do not appear to be as wide, possibly due to them being designed for 120 film and the digital being based on a 35mm film size.

I have a very similar set up. But my one has the name Bronica on the front. I really like it, but I don't use it as much as I should.

I purchase this setup for landscape photos and have only put 1 roll of film through it, as soon as my darkroom is complete I can start developing and printing, It shall see a lot more use.

 

Here's my take on "Still Life", its just a quick put-together from my flower garden.

I too have the Mamiya 645 af. Great camera! You have me beat in the lens department for I have but one lens for it. I love the sounds it makes when you click the shutter.
