At work

I know that a lot of people in the world are in a worse place than myself so I shouldn't complain. But this period in time is not doing my photography any good at all. I haven't been out to go and see things as I normally would. There is a part of me that doesn't really want to go out anyway where there are other people. During the lockdown period, I was working from home, so it has been busy. I am now back at the office, and I have had a few days out in the field. Sometimes we take the work camera which is a Canon bridge type of camera with us. I am currently working out in the country, away from the crowds, and the day was clear blue with no clouds in the sky, and the mountains have had a dusting of snow. So I thought I would grab a couple of images.

There could be worse jobs to do in the world.



I was hoping that the mountains would stand out a little bit more.



This is how bad things are, taking photos at work. I need to get out with my camera. And soon.

That is a sweet job you have Gary, Most of my time working was in dirty, noisy factories. That was when work was available but when no factory work was available there was apple and apricot picking or cutting firewood , the pay was poor but the scenery was brilliant.
The advantage of living in Tasmania is if I jump in my car, it only takes 15 to 30 minutes to go to places like this. At the moment we are at stage 2 so I can go up to 30 kilometers away from home.

Nice office, Gary. Way better than the office I worked in. But retirement is much better.

 

Once I feel a little more comfortable about getting out and about, I do have a few ideas about places to get some images.

Surveying can be nice, not all jobs are like this mind you. I was surveying when I lived in Darwin, (NT), really hot, but the thing that I really didn't like was the spiders and snakes. But I had fun.

I like the wide open spaces as well, maybe next weekend we will take a drive out into the mountains.

I was lucky with this day Ray. Not a wiff of a breeze. When the wind comes off the snow covered mountains, you can't turn up the heating as you can in the office. I still have a loooooonnnnnnnng way to go until it is retirement time. I am envious of the time that you have to do what you would like to.

And as it was a foggy start to the day, I also found a dandelion (I think), covered in dew.

Hopefully the next images that I take are not from work.

Nice series of photos from the workplace Gary. It's nice to be able to work outdoors when you have scenery like that to look at and enjoy, even if you do have to wear thermals . Your country has done a good job containing the virus, I heard on the news last night that your are about to lift all restrictions.

 

It can be nice working outdoors when you have a back drop like this.

With Covid 19, there have been no new cases for something like three weeks now, nor is there any active cases. Sporting events, going to the cafe, out for a meal, or down to the pub is back on. The only thing not on the list is international travel.

I think that our two PM's are looking at opening travel across the ditch. It would be strange if I could travel to NZ, but not Queensland.
