There were three busloads of tourists not very happy (some of them from half way around the world) that they were not seeing the sunrise displayed on the poster in the travel agent office. I mentioned to some of them that they were witnessing a once in a lifetime event, it didn't help.
Thanks Gary, it certainly was a unique experience. Two days later it was back to blue skies as normal. They had an unusually wet dry season that year and is was green everywhere, which made for some very dramatic images.
Yes, remarkable, John. It is a long while back since I was there but I remember it like it was yesterday.
We drove there just after Christmas a few years ago now from Darwin. It's a really impressive place to go to. There was hardly anyone there as well. We were kind of pleased that we went there at that time of the year as you had no one to battle against to get a good spot to take photos. Very, very, very, very hot at that time of the year. Gary
