People Golden Hour Portraits

i'm not a portrait smudger but looking at the hair that has the darker part of the background behind it compared to the lighter you can see a nice glow on the hair, maybe using the natural light / darker parts of background to bring that out more?
Also i'd say the face might benefit from a speedlight to bring out a bit of pop/brightness to the eyes or a pronounced shadow to the face to give more depth.
adjusting the eye areas in lightroom might also be worth a look,
As always it depends what type of style etc you or the model were going for.

As the title mentions golden hour portraits maybe using a colour gel to balance out or bring the colour of ambient light onto the subject for a more golden look?
This could well be me misunderstanding the phrase 'golden hour' as i'm pretty new to photography in these areas.

i've taken a few pics of my gf while out and about taking wildlife and something i like is the use of a sun hat or parasol that lets the light cast lace/dapple shadows on the face, might be worth mentioning to the intended model if you planning a trip out, again depends on the style you want to shoot.

 

I am not a huge portrait person either. I like the idea where you are going with this image. I think it is a really nice image. If I could suggest a couple things to consider. I really like the yellow and green out of focus background that you have going on here. If you had taken a step or two to your left, you could of had your subject with that golden green halo surrounding her head.

And maybe a square crop......

Other than that, a really nice image to be happy with.

I like the image as it has a Mona Lisa look to it in the way the young lady smiles and the way the hair is backlit.
