    Cheers Ray.

There was a quarter of the moon out, it was freezing cold, and I am not really that sure of what I am actually doing to get this sort of image out in the field. Yes there is room for improvement. Other than that, I am happy with the way that it has turned out.

    Thanks Caladina,

This is a single shot. No stacking of multiple images. I did use a tracking mount, I have a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer. This image is with my RP, ISO 3200, 30 seconds, at f2.0. I couldn't polar align, so I just winged it. It is the first time out with my Sigma 40mm Art.

I do have a few more from last night, but I will start a separate thread for those.

    Gary

I would like to say it was but "to raise the bar " mean to show a increase in the standard of the images we put up. but it is still a quality image.

Thanks Craig. Goes to show that when you don't really know what you are doing, things can still work out ok.

Very true, Gary. Here in Australia, we have political leaders who seem to think along the same lines

I named this Please Don't Go , I don't know if A) I am allowed another photo and B) Whether this would be classed as a night shot , if not no worries . F16B2876-D9C8-4A27-BB46-F6B83C800C44_1_201_a.jpeg

you lucky bugger. I have a light pole blazing away al-night outside of my place.
I need heavy curtains to get some sleep.

Hi Craig, I think you must have missed the Big Grin smiley icons on my original post. It was meant as a bit of humour.
That image was created in Photoshop by opening a new document and filling it with black. No camera was used.
I'm not as lucky as you think. I too have a light pole outside my window but I do have a blockout blind.

And I thought that you had produced this image by taking an image with the lens cap left on.

    That's ok ,Ray.
I did get it when I first looked at it.
It was not so bad till the old light died and they put a new one in.
I suppose it could be worse, it could start flashing on and off, like the one in the street opposite my street.
