i posting this here, feel free to move it if yo want as a reply to the issue of 1,4 converter not af with another lens. i didnt want to hijack the thread with a different tangent. when i stack two canon x2 mk iii converters onto my sigma 100-400 using the M50 it still autofocuses, obviously it slows the auto focus down but it still manages to auto focus and lock on. i've not done any firmware updates as yet to anything. just that i see so many comments about converters killing auto focus in cmeras or lenses being too slow
When you get a spare ten minutes, have a read of this. It talks about how some dslr's are limited to focusing at f5.6. https://www.the-digital-picture.com/Photography-Tips/canon-eos-dslr-autofocus-explained.aspx Gary
When I still had my 750D, I bought a Canon x2 extender/converter second hand, but "as new". When fitted to my camera/lenses it wouldn't auto focus either! I'm ashamed to say that I assumed that I had been "ripped off" and despite flicking switches and adjusting settings, it never worked for me in auto, so I didn't really put too much effort into looking into it properly. I used it a few times using manual focus, and ultimately felt it was a bit of a waste of money, so used it in part exchange for another lens!!! I wish I had kept hold of it now, as I got it from a reputable company, and there was probably nothing at all wrong with it. You live and learn. Eventually.
I had recently bought Canon EOS Rebel camera all pictures suddenly go corrupt CR3 on Windows! Then used Stellar Repair for Photo easily repairs all kinds of JPEG/JPG corruptions. This tool also convert the file format by using a secure image converter tool.
HI Albert, this is completely on another topic, from the tel-converter discussion. YOU can start a new thread on this if you like. Also I am not sure if you have a comment on the situation or a question. I don't know why you would use the tool to repair a damaged jpg on a group of CR3 raw files. I have a feeling when you installed software the computer tagged jpgs to be opened by something else, which would have been a different easier fix than installing a program. Again that is a guess, as I do not know if you image files are raw files or not.
I thought it was odd and out of place so i kindly pushed him in the right direction with a small wrist slap. I'll reserve judgement on the spam topic until I see him continue to post.
