This is pretty well why I was on a yes/no with this image. I was also thinking that it looked like the English Pound symbol. I then was looking as the trees to spell something like in a tree alphabet soup.

    But I'll move on.

    Lake Wanaka.

I like the stillness of the lake and the highlighted area, nice.

nice reflec , have you tried the 'what3words" app? i often take a look on google at some of these areas in countries i probably never get too, what3words pin points the exact location like a postcode but covers areas with no buildings etc,

I have not seen it before. But I have just had a look at it on my phone. I will have a better look on my laptop latter on. So I post the three words, you paste those words into the app and then you can see where the images are taken from. Is that correct?

yes when you are at a location you can use it too, or you can look it up on the map, it is also very useful as the emergency services also use it so if the ham falls out your sandwich on a walk and you break a leg etc you can use the app to pin point your location to a few feet so they can find you.

As Caladina said, the image has some very nice reflections in it.

    Thanks Ray.

Yes, but we were here in the middle of winter.

    IMG_2340.jpg

The lake level is controlled to feed the dams. I know that there are times when there is no water around the tree to provide the reflection. I did feel as if I was selling my soul in taking this image. But when I was there, it was myself and one other photographer. I would like to return in the summer months before NZ opens up for business again.

Yes, that time of year does not show it at its best. You won't have to wait much longer for better weather.

The weather forecast for Wanaka today was snow, and tonight is -5.

    More snow tomorrow.

Nicely done capturing the rays of light coming through the clouds.
