    Thank you Gary. It was a challenge because the moon was so bright and Mars was so tiny and barely visible to the naked eye. You still have to look close to make out Mars in the corner.

    do you know the actual date you shot the pic?
    i took one of them together in London
    mars is right out on the left of the frame about 9 o' clock (direction)
    pic was taken 6th september 2020 12:06 am London time
    sig 100-400 @400mm, ƒ8, 1/320 iso 200

    An interesting image Caladina, down here in Tasmania, it either clouded out or raining, and night photography will have to wait till we get a clear summer sky.

    yeah its getting into our autumn / winter over here so the nights will be darker, clearer and colder so ideal conditions for night sky photography.

    I agree, Mars is so tiny and dim I'm sure that would be difficult to make out on the size of an iphone screen.

    Lol i had to move the picture on my computer screen so i could see what was screen dust and which spec was mars, hence the blow up pic.

    Saturn wasn't in a great position for me in London this year, so far, dimmer than mars would be a challenge without a tracker at 400 or 800,
