I meant retailers, I can't find a retailer who has a 90d body for sale. I want to upgrade my 70d body. Later I want to upgrade my 6d to a 5dsr body.

Yes I have, my problem is the viewfinder, I prefer an optical viewfinder.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried looking through and using one of the latest evf's? I am not trying to change your mind, but they are really worth a second look. I have been using one of the lower spec'd evf's for close to a year now. I still own two dslr's. After using an evf for a period of time, I would never buy another ovf camera.

Oh? Well then I'll have a look all over again. I am basing my opinion according to my Panasonic super zoom and that's pretty old. Thanks for your input.

i went to take a pic of our new kitten on my pixel 3a, i had to go get my glasses so i could see the pic i was taking on the screen, after being used to the M50 EVF i can't imagine how i'd get on with a optical viewfinder with my eyesight.
the magnify for super accurate focusing is a godsend

porkphoto, are you specifically looking for a crop sensor?

I have at the present many cameras, my two main bodies are a 70d and full frame 6d. I recently decided to upgrade both, the 70d to a 90d and the 6d to a 5dsr. So actually I am looking for both a crop sensor and a full frame body. Since I use my 70d more than the 6d,I decided to upgrade that first. My photographic interest leans toward the 70d is the only reason I'm looking at that first.

Depending on what is important to you in a camera. There are some very real advantages to mirrorless, size and weight come to mind. A dslr as it's advantages as well. I used to just do the camera update every second or third model. I wouldn't even give a mirrorless camera any consideration. But now, I find it works so much better for my style of photography. If you have the chance to go to a shop and hold and play with a mirrorless camera, you maybe pleasantly surprised.

Gary, that was a very interesting read, thank you. The time I spend most of all is shooting birds in flight. Not just birds flying by but flying and doing what they do while in flight. Hummingbirds are pretty common here and They are fast! They fly fast and they fight while flying and everything happens in nanoseconds. Which means I must catch the birds, camera must focus, I must press the shutter button and the camera must open and close the shutter...all in nanoseconds. So far I have found that aps-c bodies work the best under those circumstances. My 70d has a frame rate of 7fps, the 90d boasts 10fps. The 70d has 20mp sensor while the 90d has a 32mp sensor. All that for less then half the cost of an R5. I am willing to be convinced but so far I'm not. Here's an example of birds in flight I am talking View attachment 10238 about.

Have you looked at the Eos M50? I don't know that much about the M series, but could this camera fit the bill for an aps-c camera?

No I haven't looked into the m50 series of bodies but I did take a quick look since you mentioned it. With 24mp sensor I would not consider that as an upgrade to my 20mp sensor. Being under 600 dollars US can't have the features I am looking for in an upgrade. As of right now the 90d lists at $1199US which makes it well within my spending allowance. Thanks Gary.
