    Happy shooting!

    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

This fine dwelling is where I grew up and members of my family still live there.
The main part of the building was originally located at Cadbury estate and was a community hall and also used for church services for soldiers prior to being shipped overseas to serve in the first world war.The hall was then move to the present site and converted to a home, it was built on and expanded by my Father to it present condition. This is the Primary school I went to, The land on which this school was built was be-quested to the people of Claremont and the surrounding areas by the management of Cadbury Chocolate Factory so a school could be built to teach the children of it's workers. This school and several others in the area was foolishly closed down by the Tasmanian Government and the land sold off. Due to it's buildings being heritage listed, the new owner was refused permission to tear them down, Some of the buildings were mysteriously caught fire not long after Claremont Primary School.jpg .

I do have a building in mind that I would like to photograph and submit. I just need a little time to get out there.

some nice stone colours in the first one, the thing that caught my eye was the tree to the left.
might be nice to get a pic of the stones on a wet day if you there at the time,

With the constant wet days we are having here in Tasmania, it might not be a long wait.

went for a light weight scouting walk-about, was mostly looking for fungi and water stuff but also had architecture in mind, seen a couple of things i'll go back for on the way but this caught my eye as an interest on the parks cafe.
there was a choice between framing the bottom of the eaves level or the top of the roof line.......

Beach architecture. The lifeguards' tower. This is just across the road from the house above. Taken at The Entrance Beach with a Canon EOS-1Ds, Canon EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS.

Ray , if you look at where I live and your image, you can definitely see the deference in style and area, where I live it's more colonial/ 50s, 60s stone, brick and weatherboard near a large river and yours is more 70s, 80s modular near a beach.

We also have areas like that too, Craig. That house is fairly new (I watched it being built) and is out of character for the area. I took the photo because it stands out and is different. As the theme is architecture I should probably include a wider view and other views which give a better idea of the area which used to have lots of holiday shacks and there are still a few of those left. But knock-down-rebuilds are the order of the day now.
