Looks like a good place for an ale and a steak.

This is the gatehouse to the Newington Armory near Sydney's Olympic Park. Here is some information from Wikipedia:
Newington Armory is a heritage-listed former Royal Australian Navy armament depot, now used for tourism purposes, at Holker Street, Sydney Olympic Park, Cumberland Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1897 by the Royal Australian Navy. It is also known as Millennium Heritage Parklands Precinct, RAN Armament Depot Newington, Royal Australian Navy Armament Depot (RANAD), Newington Nature Reserve and Sydney Olympic Games. The property is owned by the Sydney Olympic Park Authority. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 14 January 2011.

Taken with Canon EOS-1Ds, Canon EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS. The sky was added using Photoshop's new Sky Replacement tool.

Thank you. Appreciate your comments. I am happy with both but I was anxious to try out that new Photoshop feature. It will be useful.

been a few debates on that, useful for photoshop, not so great if you like pure photography

    Define "pure photography".

I like the sky in the modified image as it gave the image character, the original sky was rather bland .

meh, why bother, doesnt say anything in the rules about composites, to me a 'photography challenge/comp' is about getting an image from the camera with limited adjustments, not replacing main features with different ones.

I'd like to impose a composite ban in the monthly comp for the remainder of this year, this relates to the one for december esp :) (i have an idea for december you might like)
next year, if we want composites should we limit them to elements we have taken ourselves?

Caladina, the comp was restarted to encourage participation and to get people out taking images, at present there are only 3 people who have put up images, Photoshop is a important tool in the modern photographer accessories. My I suggest a separate section for in-camera only images to showcase photographer's work with no photoshop, etc. only reducing the file size to allow the uploading of the image.

I have to agree, the purpose of the monthly challenge is to get people out shooting and sharing. And we are in baby steps as it is, I do not want to impose any rules against people to shoot and process how they feel. Simply go out and shoot something new relating to the topic at hand that month. The challenges are suppose to be for fun regardless.

An interesting shot Kevin with one small issue with it, the image is at a bit of a slant, If you were to put the image into photoshop or Gimp ( this is a free to down load, similar to photoshop ) you could straiten it up.

Yes, I agree, Craig. Straightening it would make a huge difference. Not sure why the image was posted twice.

I sometimes accidentally double click and end up with two photos.
Then comes the task of editing the extra out, not easy if you are new to the forum.
