This months photo topic is "Bokeh". Time to grab your fast lenses!
    Happy shooting!

    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

initial reaction to the subject was similar to the time i gave my cat a pickle :p
looks like i chose the right weekend to buy a load of glitter paper for back drops.
it should be a good subject in fairness for me as its not something i normally worry about, hence letting someone else pick something :) .
It does what its supposed to, gets people trying new things .
should be fun, chance to be very creative.

This image was taken the same day and it was 29 degrees and very bright, unfortunately I did not have a neutral density or polarizing filter so I took the shot at F1.8 for the bokeh, 100 ISO and the shutter speed flat out, camera 60D. Lens 50mm F1.8. If anyone wants to put it into photoshop and correct the light balance you are welcome too. ducks on the beach.jpg

    A little Canon stuff
As this months challenge is about bokeh, would it be worth adding the lens details to each image?

I don't see why not, it would be cool to see which lens in addition to the aperture.

Not the greatest of images, but I would like to get an image in before the month flies by. But here is the cat doing what she does the best. The focus is on her lower eye, but I like how her nose and ears are out of focus.

I will submit a few more as I get out and play a little more.

RP with a Sigma 40mm Art at F1.4. Close to the lenses minimum focusing distance.

You could always cheat a bit and put it there in with photoshop.
If you look there is a small bit of glint, just expand it a small amount, not much but just so it is a little noticeable.

Photoshop is just another tool to use but it is not that cheap, another alternative is Gimp, it is free to download and similar to photoshop, there are youtube clips on how to use it and if it is not for you, just delete it, no financial loss just a bit of time. Most of my photography class range in ages 68 to 92, and all have a bit of a dabble in it from time to time.

Some how I don't think you will be able to get a bit of glint in this one's eye somehow
