Good afternoon all, I have just got round to looking at a few images taken on Danbury Common again and had another go at PP. I am relatively new to photography so I would be grateful for any constructive comments. Thank you.
Looks like you had some really nice light you were working with that you can see starting to show on the tops of some of the leaves/foliage and the trunk of the tree. Was this shot at blue hour? The color tones are all blue and subtle. I would like to see a bit of a saturation bump and a bump in contrast. I like where you were going with the composition, I would have maybe tried a shot cutting the bush on the left out and see how I could have composed it slightly to the right. It's always good to see what you are including or cutting through on the top/bottom/edges of the frame.
The comp is good and i like the foreground trees, though at first glance it seems a bit busy up top and with the background foliage so bright behind the trees, maybe a darkened background around the trunks might make the tree trunks stand out a bit more? i adjusted the contrast quite a bit in ps and added a bit of vibrance and saturation and it does make the colours pop and give some separation in the trees. not sure what type of mood you want to set with the picture. as mentioned already there is quite a blue cast. that being said there are some great colours in there
Thanks guys. Is it possible to post the images you propose? I am happy for you to edit my images, how else do we learn? The image is exactly how it was on the day, it was a misty morning and using a telephoto lens enabled me to cut through the mist. Thank you for your time.
Light application of a warming filter cuts down the blue significantly. Here is how it looks with 25% WF applied (photoshop). You can also do this with a warming filter attached to the lens. I also notice there is bit of noise going on (may be because ef high ISO) which may require an application of low pass filter (trade off with loss of details). You can also do a color correction. I like the composition a lot.
Welcome. Played with it a little more: some dodging and burning to cut down hot spots, NF in selected regions and little more WF in selected blue regions.

i see its an older post and the author said its ok to edit, i went with a grey point correction then saturation increase and a contrast edit. ( i took the grey point from the shaded side of the silver birch) more what we would see on a sunny afternoon in uk of coarse fine adjustments of colour tones may give various results to other people depending on monitors etc as for the composition of the original (i've not edited that) i do like it alot, the verdigris looking licken? running up the main tree and the brightness of the silver birch to the right are a good case of having multiple subjects in an image, both complimenting each other to balance the interest,
