Fireworks are really hard to take good pictures with. Requires perfect timing, and no wind conditions.
Thanks for the comment phil, as you say I found it difficult to get a good picture but for me it was experimentation and I took these because of the effect the trees had. I am still trying lots of different things to see what happens and why hopefully learning as I go.
Actually, last weekend I FINALLY got a few good fireworks shots. This was a chance encounter. They were fairly close. I got out of the car and tried a few for the heck of it. 1/30 and 1/60 IIRC. All handheld.
Thanks. I can hand hold most of the time at 1/30. This is one of the best I've ever gotten of fireworks. I've tried the tripod and bulb release for short time exposures and I just got a lot of blur and smoke.
