This months photo topic is "Blur". The idea here is to shoot something where the blur is intentional and adds to the photo, commonly this is done photographing motion.

Sorry for the late post, the weekend got away from me.

    Happy shooting!

    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

It's a bit of a brain tease this month, car was the first thing I thought of,moving water was next and still trying to come up with something.

That is one of the positive things about this. Making you think instead of shooting within your normal scope of images.

I tried to avoid that by hand balling it to my students, being senior students and refusing to do any homework, I now have to come up with something myself , I think I have a headache coming on. Might just concentrate on Wednesday night's Blood Red Moon, for once I hope it's a clear night. worry about it later, how's a fuzzy moon sound

It might be a British thing, but the band was the first thing I thought of when I saw the title. Only the need to post someone else' photo stopped me from going down that route! :)

Really the subject, is complicated and I have been changing of point of view throughout the passed days.

1.-At first I tried a severe blur, where only abstract shapes and colors appeared.

2.-Afterwards, look at the motion blur, for example plants moved by the wind.

3.- Try to highlight a moving object, freezing it. And thus highlight its speed.

Perejil desenfocado 22.jpg 4.-The fourth is the most common failure within current autofocus lenses, as you try to make a close-up and the final fence comes out in focus and the subject does not. Perejil desenfocado 22.jpg

And 5.-Lately I remembered, when I began to be interested in photography, there were photographers who had Zoom lenses, they changed the focal length quickly, and photography took on a very cool aspect. These last few days I have tried this system, and the best result is this.

Craig, thanks for your comments. In the 70s of the last century, he still did not dream of having a ZOOM lens, and looking at photography magazines sometimes a photograph would come out which he highlighted, when applying this effect.

Now the autofocus and zoom lenses are the ones that come as a set, with the cameras; and it's hard to gauge the effect.

I have been trying several times, and yet I am not satisfied, I think I must persevere even more times.

I agree, José. I grew up looking at gear I could never afford and you look at modern equipment, so much is done by the camera and when you try for something that is not middle of the road, we struggle but it is this struggle that is how we learn and surely that is the sense of accomplishing something worthwhile.

Thanks for the comment, the main difficulty that I found is that you have to be very attentive, since at the moment of the shot you have to turn quickly, and it was not always on time
