    Ashi Super - Takumar 1.8 / 55mm,
To save thread space shall i just edit this first reply as i think of new ideas?

    Framed -
a subject that has been framed naturally or artificially in some way

Not all there - an image that only shows part of the main subject, be it a close up, an off center view or a main subject obscured

Pick a colour - we had green a while back so another colour one at some point

Your country - things that are only found in your country and no where else

Three of a kinda-sorta - Three different things you have put together or seen together that make a threesome, ie, a wine glass, a glass ornament in front of a window because they are all glass

Sticky - something that is sticky

Cloudy - Something that is cloudy, a glass, a sky, something that has moved in an image to make itself appear cloudy

Single colour background - bit different from the pick a colour idea, your subject has one colour / colour tone to the background

Motion captured - the capture of something in motion this could be either the freezing of something in motion or the capture of the motion itself with longer exposure

Wavy / curvy - something that is wavy or curvy like sea / water or a persons hair, a winding road or path etc

    Broken - something thats broken

New to You - An item that you have just bought, been given or found. this could be anything at all, it has to be yours or something that you are in possession of like a hired or borrowed item.

3 way - take a picture of something from 3 different directions

Made by me - take an image of something you have made, made happen or a composition that didn't exist without your doing

Signs of life - something left behind by a living thing that is not in the image, ie foot prints be it human or animal, bird poo, an empty spiders web, an abandoned deserted building etc

Texture - the surface texture of subjects, ie tree bark, orange skin, wood grain tarmac etc

Words have meanings - little bit more challenging on this oe, the words in you image are descriptive or have a meaning related to the image, ie, a green wood pecker on the headstone of a mr greenwood, sweet spelt out in sugar granules, mind the step sign next to a slope as an ironic statement

The biggest difference - Three images of a same subject each one being of a very different type of photography style, ie subject is a flower, styles are reflection / macro / black and white, the subject is up to you as are the styles but it should be the same subject in all three

Titles - Book / song or film titles represented in an image, ie could be a picture of a pair of pliers representing the film Jaws

Toys and games - pretty simple find a nice composition to photograph toys or games

Your Favorite Things - images of your favorite things be it items you own or places you love, maybe a favorite person etc

A Coke Can - I have picked this as an object that is most likely available to all our participants, if you can think of another single item that is exactly or as near as possible around the world then sub it.
The point of this challenge is everyone gets to take images of the same object, something that can be as is or altered, ie crushed turned inside out etc, a great one to see the different approaches to this challenge

The Alphabet - Find objects and scenarios where letters of the alphabet are formed in nature or the scene like tree limbs crossing or a frame of a man made object etc, not something that was ever intended as a letter/word

Inside Your Home - simple one here, anything that is inside the bounds of your own home, if you have a garage or shed / outbuilding on your property thats fine too as long as its the insides, excluding the outside areas like yard or gardens,

From the Ideas Folder - everyone has a scrap book or an ideas folder for photography right? well, run through it and go shoot those shots you always wanted to but never did.

Selective Lighting - an image where you have either added light or shot it with light that is used to selectively highlight shapes or features in your image

Fasteners - something used to fasten items together, nuts bolts staples tape welds zips etc

Lens flares and Artifacts - Make use of lens flares and other optical effects the lens can produce onto an image

Image a song - Take three images that represent a songs lyrics or emotions rather than just the title

Only When I Laugh - images that made you laugh

Moody mother Nature - Things mother nature has done when she's been in a bad mood, ie stormy weather, weeds strangling trees or other plants etc

Photo Hour - pick an hour, take a picture everyday for the month at that hour each day, post your favs

Smell This - an image that invokes a smell, ie a blown out match or a buddleia flower etc

False Colour - simple one, change the colour of the subject / image from its natural colour, either in post or in camera, use of gels etc

Head, shoulders knees and toes - all things so named, not just species body parts

Just a quick few off the top of my head for people who are in a lockdown should be able to do.

    Silhouette's
    Water
    Buildings/structures
    Pets/local wildlife
A technique sort of thing. Using flash, thin depth of field, fast/slow shutter speed, macro/close up.
Confectionary. And you can eat the subject afterwards
    Flora
    Feathers

It's the first day of October and time for a new contest, many of us are stuck in lock-down so may I suggest native vegetation around our homes, things such as parks and reserves, around our communities and suburbs. Possibly the native wildlife that inhabit these environments.

I am house bound mostly as well since my wife works and I am retired. The only wild life I have around here are feral cats and starlings, so maybe our pets?

Things that are local would cover the suggestions made and broaden it out quite a bit, maybe just things in our homes?

For the love of god noooooooooooooooooooo, bah humbug.

though, one of my added suggestions of "new to you" would cover the gifts of christmas, it also keeps it open to people stuck indoors for the cold weather (northeners) or covid restrictive areas

I understand the sentiment that not everyone celebrates the holiday season, so I made it open-ended "holidays" you can photograph this time of year however it appeals to you. Even if its not holiday related :) We can re-visit new o you as a option here in the coming months.

Done my spin on a number of the suggestions Caladina provided, mainly to try and give a bit more room for interpretation. Need to maybe start brainstorming more to pool from before I run out of things or we start repeating.

With modern cameras with high speed shutters and high ISO. we tend to loose some of the old skills of photography so how abouts shot taken by panning.

Its worth thinking about.... honestly tabled it based on need for special gear. Same reason I haven't done anything requiring flash.

flash / added light might work to be honest, there are a few ways that can be applied, as intended flash / speed light photography or for those that don't have speedlights they could go with added light ie a torch or other light other than natural or ambient

also it will be great to see some artistic uses of speed lights or added light too rather than just lighting a subject like light painting ot speed light shadowing / motion capture

A flash light, Caladina may be onto something there as if you use the torch as is or a bit of curtain scrim to make it into a multi-point light source or as she said flash the light onto a subject at night to do a bit of light painting.

One more to throw into the pot, clouds, you do not need any fancy gear only a nice Canon camera and a clear view of a bit of sky.

If others don't have an issue with sports we can probably do that next month, I thought it may be difficult for some based on the gear they have.. But if no one has issue with it I'm cool to use sports as a pick.
