Been just using a galaxy phone for a long time. Always better than most point and shooters. Bought a fixed lens Olympus fro. Walmart once, had been eyeing the rebel series for a while. Never wanted to spend $500 plus so years went by. I chanced into a thrift store and walked out w a Canon t6 rebel no charger, and about 5 lenses for $80 I've had it a few days. I love it and I hate it at the same time. Maybe I need something nicer. The auto focus seems crappy, and moving pictures, forget it. How ever I got some cool pics of the moon and stars . I'm on day 3 here with this guy. Is a blot a charger from Best Buy for $40 dollars and ordered 2 batteries and a charger off of Amazon for 20 bucks I am having a lot of fun and a lot of frustration at the same time I'm mostly shooting in manual mode because of the way that it doesn't like to focus automatically Anyway here's a few pictures I took
Welcome to the forums Powertroke, Just a note, the first hand full of posts you make are verified by moderator to stop the forum from getting spammed with bots. That's why no one saw the post yet. Regarding moving objects being an issue, you need a shutter speed that is fast enough to freeze that action, it could be 1/200 or 1/2000 depending on how fast the object is moving.
You must be one of the few mods. I figured this to be a super busy forum. Appreciate the reply. I'll see what I can do. What lense would you recommend for photographing the grand canyon? More pictures from last night
There are a number of things to consider, do you ever plan to go to a larger sensor or mirror-less, do you want a zoom or fixed length lens. Initial thought on grand canyon is that you probably want something pretty wide for landscape shots. For your crop sensor they make a 10-18mm lens, if you like stary/nightscapes I would maybe recommend a wide fast fixed lens like a 14mm 2.8. If you ever want to go with a larger mount I personally really like the 17-40L which has great color rendition and is quite sharp and a very modest priced L lens. So it really depends on shooting preferences and long term goals. At this time just get experience with the gear you have I wouldn't try to plan the future too far till your pretty versed with that gear. Which lenses did you get in your kit?
