Sometimes you just get lucky

I decided to go out to the lake and shoot some sunrise photos this morning. I gathered my gear and drove to my favorite spot at the Cove at Concord Park. I sat up my tripod and waited patiently until the sun peeped over the horizon. Then, the fun began. I shot a bunch of phots using different shutter speeds and different ISOs. I like to under expose my sunrise photos so I get a star burst effect. This is one of my favorite shots of the morning.

yep the sun was close to the horizon and i thought just a we bit more and it will be great, after several hours i thought, maybe i come back when its closer.....................

No luck required Scott - just good planning. Superb colours and well framed.
That looks like it's the lake on S. Northshore Drive. I like to check out these things to see how the other half live and I noticed a photo of what appears to be the same boat!
