Hi - my first post on this forum.
I finally decided to buy a DSLR, having not used my Minolta X-300 for many years. At the back of my mind I was always hoping that digital film would be a proper "thing" one day!
I've tried Bridge cameras in the mean time, great zoom but very slow and I never think picture quality is as good as it could be. I've decided to get a second-hand Canon, narrowed down to either a 100D or a 60D. I know either will be a great improvement on what I currently have (Fujifilm HS10) but am unsure as to which one to choose. I'm leaning towards the 60D even though it's a couple of years older than the 100D, mainly because I like an articulated back for the odd shot where it's hard to use the viewfinder, and the built-in flash is stronger with the ability to trip off an external flash. I'd go for a 33-75mm IS lens to start with. Both cameras are within a few £ of each other, although the 60Ds I've seen tend to have higher shutter counts (~30,000).
By the way, I was brought up using an old-school SLR so am familiar with aperture, speed etc.
I'd love to hear thoughts and advice from more experienced photographers.
    Thanks
    Andy

Shutters are rated for much more than 30k shots, I wouldn't worry too much. I would test any used camera before purchase to make sure they don't have any major issues. The 100d has a very simple menu, having previous SLR experience, you will likely appreciate the 60d being a more advanced camera that has ability to control the camera and customize via the menus.

I'm not sure which lens you are referring to , there is a 24-70L that is in a similar zoom range.

Thanks for that John, nice to have confirmation I'm in the right woods and not barking up the wrong tree. Yes you're right, it's the 24-70 I was looking at. Don't know where 33-75 came from!
    Thanks for your input.
