This months photo topic is "Complementary" Opposing trait or characteristics that go together or enhance each other.

    Happy shooting!
    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

Did you have a specific interpretation of complimentary or anything goes?

as far as i can make out its either something you got for free with something or a compliment paid to some one, am i missing some thing here or missing an interpretation?

maybe a reference to the colour wheel, complimentary colours?

It was meant to be open ended but the idea was showing a complimentary relationship, the color wheel is an example of that yes.

SORRY, but I have NO Idea what this is meaning AT ALL! You have to cater for not First Language CANON User as well ... but even after over 40 years living in NZ I cannot make Head or Tail out of this one.

If you intended to convey the idea of items "combining in such a way as to enhance or emphasize the qualities of each other or another", then I think you meant "complementary" rather than "complimentary" - only one letter different, but a world of meaning apart!

Its a step beyond opposites, they \bring out the best or enhance each other. In color theory, green and red are complementary colors for example. Hope that helps clarify, I updated the first post as well.

would this count, the red being a complementary to the green?

This image is more relevant to those of us in Australia. A meat pie, a cup of coffee (though the choice of beverage may differ), whilst watching the Footy (Australian Rules Football) IMG_5110.JPG

I am not 100% sure I am getting this months title right, but here goes.

I looked at the colour wheel example, and I saw our venus fly trap plant, and thought hmmmmm. Green, with the colour red being the complementary colour. Natural lighting, tubes, the subject, and a sheet of red card.

RP, some tubes, and 70-200 f4 L IS.

I think that we can all relate to this image at some point in life, apart from the weird game that makes no sense that is being played. ;)

Nice photograph, there really are the two complementary colors, but it is not RGB, it would be green and magenta

Gary, great photography, with complementary colors of the traditional model or RYB.

The ink of a printer compulsorily complements the printer, it could be considered a complement. deposito de tintas 2.jpg

Thanks, José. I am sure you have a similar culinary equivalent whilst you watch a similar event.
