What's with this telling 3rd party lens producers to cease-and-desist selling the RF mount compatibles? Do you really want to limit the market for your R bodies?

Why would you want to limit the market on your own sales of lenses after spending all the money in development and allow third party lenses?

Always buy into the system that has the lenses you want and need, don't buy a camera then hope they make the lens you want.

i'm wondering if this is something to do with the AF script on the RF system, Laowa who make manual focus lenses are still selling them, time will tell i guess

It all comes down to money and market control, Apple started the ball rolling on this, now if you buy a windows 11 computer, microsoft prevents you from putting non microsoft software on your computer. Everything has to go through there microsoft store, thus controlling the market. Canon may be doing the same thing.

I have the Laowa 85mm F1.8 in EOS mount, I could not afford the Canon version but could afford this one new. I have got some lovey images using this lens.

Sounds really cool, I have 2 micro 4/3s cameras, a nikon D1 with a stuffed lens, so I purchased a M42 adapter for it, I have a very nice 210mm M42 mount lens to which I put on the camera. I have it set up on a tripod in my lounge room, looking into my kitchen and out the kitchen window to a dead tree at the bottom of my backyard. Photographing the birds that land on the tree. The only issue is getting up off of the lounge to get a coffee top up or the toilet visit due to the coffee consumed. Who said you had to go outside to take wildlife images. To really get funky images I have a 2x extender and a 3x extender joined together on the lens. This should give me 2100mm, I am waiting for summer to get some moon shots, last year, every time i tried it was clouded out. The second one was a Olympus Pen Mini micro4/3 with 2 lenses and a dinky little flash unit. Lenses are 14 - 42mm and a 40 -150mm. I have had a bit of a play with it but mainly use it for my photo class to use, It is popular with the ladies in the class.
