My idea is not so much the big games between established teams but small local teams and just groups of people joining 0n a ground somewhere, just kicking or hitting a ball around.

i got three cats and one lazer pointer, think i got this covered lol
thing is i was taking some smudges on the foreshore of the thames , mostly bridges and ships at low tide, but really loving the deep mud, point is there were runners and a few yachts doing boaty things so yeah when you stop and look there are sports all around us, had to be home before golden hour so maybe next time on that one (current month challenge for people reading this in the future)

The cats sound like a great idea, you could line them up at one end of the hall way and use the lazer pointer to encourage them to drag race up the hallway, sort of like using a fake hare in a greyhound race.

Good idea, here is another, you know the material tubes filled with sawdust or other matter used to stop drafts from under a doorway, place 6 or 7 evenly space up the hallway and use them for hurdles, again use the laser pointer as a hare.

It will be 3 years of monthly challenges this spring. I will probably treat 2023 as a small reset. I like the Idea of issuing a mix of challenges including technical ones as if they were a photo class assignment. I will also probably mix in more regularly themed subjects like a pick a color one like we just did. I am still open to suggestions like in the thread here so don't hesitate to submit them.

yep, i'm still updating my original post above when i think of new ideas
i also liked the idea out side of the actual subject matter like use your least used lens
also the technique ones have been great too, like bokeh, for me that was a new way to shoot as i was in my first year of photography and i learnt alot about the subject and before it wasn't that thought of but as i went through the month i really got to love it

there have been some i had great ideas to do when they came up but just didn't have the time, really don't know how people find the time to do them when they are weekly or every two weeks

A good idea Johnesy as it should create more interest in the monthly post. At the moment there is a dedicated few, hopefully an increase in numbers should result.

It's coming up to a new theme for the merry month of May. Looking through some of the suggestion put up by Caladina, I come across "signs of life" the April theme kept us inside for our ideas, this one should get us out and about for our photography.

How about ‘challenges with a cause’. Meaning this forum seems to have members worldwide, lets pick a topic, like trash and show the world the problems we/they have. Maybe someone, somewhere can use these photos to allow others to see what we have seen. Other examples could include, smog, water, air or anything we think needs attention. In other words, lets help other with their causes putting our hobby to work. Add your thoughts.

great idea, maybe for a positive spin on it we could also show ways in which we have solved some of the problems or what we as local neighbor hoods do to try and make a difference

maybe some of us have talented people local to us that make stuff out of waste materials

Putting a positive twist on this would be a big plus for subject matter. There is a lot of good out there, lets frame it.
