January Monthly Challenge - "Aperture"

Ok so here is the least DOF for the Bokeh now I will have to shoot something with a large DOF

 

Nice Cooldood, fits the requirement for the challenge beautifully.

 

And for once, I am going to get in early.



Using a Sigma 70mm f2.8 at f2.8 with a 36mm extension tube. Taking advantage of a shallow DOF with a subject that is close to the camera.

Canon RP and a Sigma 70mm macro lens.

 

What is it? kind of looks like a lady slipper plant

 

I can't honestly answer that question. When Mrs GDN went shopping, she looks for plants that need a lot of loving and are a little cheaper than normal, and this what she came home with. This orchid has no information with it. But it looks like this. As you can see, it is not the best looking one that you are ever going to see at the moment, but it looks better than it did a week or so ago when she got it.

I actually prefer this image more than my first one. There is one small part in focus, and of course in front and behind is out of focus. Again, using a wide aperture to my advantage.

What I see when I turn the image upside down, is the blurry back of an angel.

Cooldood, nice photography, you really see just the essentials.

 

Gary, both orchids at wide open are stunning, and the other reflects the beauty of that plant.

 

With my Canon camera, I normally use two lenses: the first is my Canon Zoom 15-85mm. Which has some numbers F. 3.5 in the short part and F5.6 in the longest distance. And I also have a Zeiss Makro Planar, 100 F2, with a 1:2 macro.

Since the depth of field is connected to the aperture of the diaphragm and the focal length, I am sending you some photographs taken with both lenses.

The shallowest depth of field is achieved by opening the diaphragm to the maximum.

With the zeiss objective of 100mm. It is the following still life of chestnuts, pomegranates and pears.

 

With the Canon 15-85 objective, it is the pot on the terrace wall, with an aperture of 5.6 to 85mm

 

The longest focal length, I get it with the Zeiss objective, when photographing an Orchid without flowers, it was a Dendrobium nobile and everything is in focus. It was 100mm focal length at F22.

 

And the view of the Communications Tower from my terrace, is focused looking for the hyperfocal distance in the Canon objective, a 85mm and an aperture of F7, 1, from ten meters everything is in focus.

 

Some very nice results with your lenses José, it also has prompted me to get off my fat arse and put an effort into taking images with some purpose in mind.
