January Monthly Challenge - "Aperture"

Thank you for your comments. I may try and get one more image in for this month.

I do particularly like this image. Almost something that you want to get out the paint brushes, and have a go at painting this scene.

This is my macro setup, not as fancy ao a lens designed for macro but I like the tactile feel of using the Tasman 135mm M42 manual lens combined with the bellows mount.

 

This image was taken at the front of my good friend's unit. The image was hampered with it being a bit of breezy day and the shallow depth of field of my macro setup.

I jammed a stick up against the plant stem to stop most of the movement, still it was fun to do and I have no idea what plant it is.
I may go back Sunday and retake the shot if there is no breeze.

 

Sounds relaxing but isn't photography painting with light, the light sensor or film our canvas, the shutter and aperture our brushes.

 

Gary,thanks for your comments, this is the second edition, since the first one was with DPP, and although the color was more natural, the definition that capture one gave was much better.

 

Craig, interesting bellows, from the M42 era, I have several lenses that I use, I don't have a bellows, but I do have extension rings, with three rings, although I rarely use them.
The photography of the flower is fantastic and you can see a small depth of field. It is quite well focused and there is hardly any jitter.

 

I have always had a passion for the M42 gear. I also have the extension tubes and a selection of the lens filters. The flower still shows a little movement and I can do better, I wil see how I go Sunday.
I have only just purchased the bellows from the OP shop I volunteer at. This is the first time I have used it.

 

you could try turning up the shutter speed and f-stop then adding extra light from a flash or led work light.

failing that nick the flower, tell your mate the dog ate it and shoot it indoors

 

All good ideas, Caladina. As for nicking the flower, I shall give that one a miss as she is grumpy.
I shall see how I go Sunday when I revisit.

It's worth loosing a few drops of blood for.

Or get a friend to acquire them for you while you distract your grumpy friend.
