I just purceased a PowerShot G9 as my everyday camera and took it for a test drive after setting photo quality as RAW+Large/Fine JPG.

When I came back home and transferred files from the SD card to my computer there were no .cr2 files on the disk. Where do I look to learn why?

    TIA,

    Rich

Could they be a folder or two deep on the SD card? Your OS should at least see the files on the card.

Johnsey, no. All images are stored in DKIM/100CANON/ and none in the other two top-level directories. Just to be sure, I did check all directories and they were all blank. Only the jpg files were found. That's why I'm puzzled.

    Thanks.

    Resolved: all my fault.

I thought that I had set the camera to shoot both large, fine jpg and RAW, but I hadn't. I just fixed that and took some test images in the back yard and, sure enough, the .cr2 files are there.

My new user apologies to all,
    Rich
