I have both lens and wanted to pick one for my family trip.both lens are very versatile I know . My camera is 5d mark 3. Any suggestions? And why ?
Personally I would get the 2.8 version of the 24-70, Id rather have a faster lens than a few more mm of zoom. They have similar cost, the 24-70 should preform just a hair better optically from what I have read, but both are really good L series lenses. The 24-105 does have IS, but I usually find I don't rely on on IS very often unless I am hand holding long lenses. Full disclosure I never went this route, i opted for a 17-40 as my first zoom, then added prime lenses in that range,
Thanks for the opinion. Yes my 24-70 is 2.8/F. Btw, is “IS” meaning stabilizer? I saw this “IS” a lot . I thought 24-70 has stabilizers too
The F4 version has IS, not the 2.8 that I am aware. Yes it means image stabilizer. Also here is a good lis of ef lenses for quick comparison.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_EF_lens_mount
