Hi everyone, I'm having some trouble with my Canon 80d. I have it since almost 7 years and never had issues with it. By the way, sorry for my english, I'm trying my best First, for you to know : I took it to a specialist but he didn't find the solution. He just cleaned my camera. I try with SD card, without, with lenses, without, with brand new battery... This is my problem : When I try to take pictures, it freeze, black out. I can't do anything. There is no more informations on screens, just like if it turns off. Yesterday, I tried to take pictures with the burst mode and to move it at the same time. And a new problem appeared. It was written "close the sd card slot?". I never had this message before. Then I tried to do the same thing without a SD card. I don't know what to look for anymore and what to do. It's so so annoying... Anyone had the same problem ? Here a video of what is going on : https://youtu.be/NIrEN8kSNWA
So i is happening pretty much all the time but does recover on its own and may take some pictures or may not? 1. regarding the error - the door to the battery and to the card slot have a pin that triggers if they are open, this does not appear to be the issue as the card door is shut at least in your video. But it is an electrical connection inside that is triggered by the door pin, What I see here is a shorting out of the circuitry, it could be from a pinched or almost disconnected wire or from water damage. Did your camera take a good impact or was it exposed to moisture? My guess is the impact would be most likely, the camera has mild weather sealing.
Thank you for your answer. I don't use it anymore. I'm more into film photography or with my iphone. I wanted to sell it, that's why I discovered the problem because I want to buy an hybrid camera. They are no damage on the camera meaning that it didn't fall and I don't remember it falling.
