    Telephoto Lens.
    Taken with: Canon EOS 7D MK II body with a Canon EF-S 18~135mm, f/3.5~5.6, IS, STM, Lens.
    Manual Priority Mode with Multi-Segment Metering. F/L @ 135mm.

    Very nice shot. Herons don't usually fly so low to the ground.

    Thanks very much. You are correct. I was up higher than it appears while this guy was actually making his landing approach. Seems he had his sights set on a frog resting on a boulder. The marsh in the background is a border for Heron Lakes Golf Course near the Columbia River in Portland, Oregon. Luckily I was able to locate an area where I could use a secure spot for my tripod.
