Do all 7Ds made over the years have the same features?
Would a 6 year old 7D have more features then a 12 year old one if the firmware versions are the same?
    Thanks

I assume you mean the 7d original versus the 7d mark2, the mark 2 has a newer better sensor and more advanced auto-focus. (among other differences). https://versus.com/en/canon-eos-7d-vs-canon-eos-7d-mark-ii

Nowhere in my question do I specify the mark Ii
    The question remains the same.
    Let me repeat it.
"Do all 7Ds made over the years have the same features? Would a 6 year old D7 have more features then a 12 year old one if the firmware versions are the same?
    Thanks"

All cameras (not even specific to you 7D have identical specs regardless of the year built. There could be a small feature turned on by a firmware upgrade however. I simply assumed you meant mark 2 based on the years mentioned, the 7d was in production late 2009 through 2014, 6 years ago the only one being produced was the mark 2 and it was mid cycle running late 2014 through 2021.

Canon and other camera makers user versions to change features, that is why there were new rebel dslrs basically every year for a decade. It would be a nightmare if the specs on a website did not match the camera because they were changing.

Canon has released multiple versions of this camera along with various improvements and modifications for each model over time. The original edition was first put out in 2009 which was then succeeded by the 7d mark II in 2014.

Nonetheless, even amongst cameras of comparable versions differences exist between what specific models were able to do; for instance some earlier releases of their mark II didn’t possess an embedded lens aberration correction feature whereas later releases did indeed come equipped with that option.

Regarding your second question - if two congruent versions (from differing years) possess identical firmware then their associated options and attributes should remain coherent across them both; though keep in mind newer releases may carry newer updates which could give them added capabilities compared to older renditions holding obsolete software updates (in which case those enhanced properties wouldn’t appear on those outdated designs). On that merit make certain you’re consistent with gratifying new software installations so both editions are maintaining synchronous performance characteristics "just-in-case".

Yeah Martin was very clear in the original post that he was comparing same firmware. His only confusion for me was the 12 vs 6 year old, as they stopped making the mark 1 when the mark two came out so that situation would not exist where you could get a mark 1 manufactured in 2011 and in 2017. I think understood that minor capabilities may have been tweaked in the firmware which is why he mentioned same firmware in each post.
His primary question about features from each year on the same model with same firmware is straight forward... they are identical. Hence my response, If they add something to hardware that's when they make a new model, 7d 5d rebel t6 vs rebel t6i vs rebel t7 vs t7i etc... that is their clarification the gear has changed.
