This is some of my photography students at the Salmon Ponds at Plenty in Tasmania. This is what caught their attention This is the Platypus on the bank of the pond. The platypus is a egg laying mammal with a leathery duck style bill and a beaver's tail. One other thing to note is the males have a spike on his back legs which is poisonous The only other egg laying mammal is also in Australia and that is the spiney anteater.
I think they were as when the Platypus swam past them they all were taking photos of it and it sounded like a machine gun going off.
