Porkphoto, no need to enroll in my classes, they are a community house based class, no cost involved, just showup and you are welcome. A big part of my classes are based on socialising plus the photography aspect.

Porkphoto, have you ever thought of starting a similar class up yourself, I am sure there is Community House Organisations where you are and cost very little to be involved. All it takes is a few like minded people with a interest in photography , plan a few local field trips, throw in some sandwiches , biscuts and coffee and take it from there.
The big plus is you will not have to swim very far to get to it.

Good suggestion Craig, but I'm no good at organization, thanks. You gave me an idea, I'll look and see if there are any camera clubs in this area.

A photo class at the Royal Hobart Botanical Gardens sounds like a great way to explore various photography techniques in a natural setting. This type of environment offers rich opportunities for learning about composition, natural light, macro photography, and how to capture the textures and colors of plants and landscapes.

The diverse flora and landscape designs at the gardens provide a perfect backdrop to practice focusing, depth of field, and creating balance within your shots. Moreover, botanical gardens often have different lighting conditions—from shaded areas under large trees to bright, open flower beds—allowing photographers to experiment with exposure and how natural light affects the mood and detail in images.

In this type of setting, you also get the chance to practice patience and observation, key skills in nature photography. Whether you’re photographing a flower up close or capturing the wider scenery, it’s an excellent opportunity to refine your techniques while immersed in the natural beauty of the gardens.
