    Hello :)

i would like to know how i can check the shutter count number on that camera ?

i have tried with "CanonEosDigitalInfo_v1.4_SDK_v2.14" and don't work, with FreeShutterCount and don't work and even with gPhoto2 on ubuntu but don't work.

i have tried to use that website: https://www.camerashuttercount.com/ but still don't work because say that in the exif is not indicated !

Download the free Astro Photography Tool (Google search for APT), it will do a lot of things you don't need but if you plug your camera into the PC and press the shutter then it will show you the shutter count.

Based on their website, you download the computer application, the driver download page just is a package with additional drivers if your camera is not recognized/is not included in primary download.

Is there a concern you have with trying the demo program on your PC and seeing if it gives the shutter count as described?

no, i have installed the program.

after that i will click on "connect" as i have circled it on the top right of the screen, i just have to take a picture with the Canon M3 ?
and where should be show the shutter number of that camera ?

I want to remember that the Canon M3 cannot generally be controlled via USB, only trought wifi app and not even via Canon's own utility tool for windows "Canon EOS Utility" ... not even with this can you take a photo via USB cable while seeing the live view on the PC.

i haven't used the software i also don't have an M3, I assume this is a driver issue, it doesn't show your camera connected.
Ray can confirm what he sees with his camera.

Once you have connected your camera to the PC, press "Connect" and the "Log" information at the bottom of the screen will confirm it is connected and show the shutter count, you should not need to fire the shutter but it won't hurt to try.
I have used this method for various Canon DSLR's and iI would expect it to work with the 2000D which you originally enquired about but I don't think it will work with the M3 without a USB connection.

So there are a few programs that are suggested if you search on google, i cant speak to if they work. Seems your not the only one who has tried searching a few programs and had issues.

Can I ask why the concern with shutter count....?

Its a 10 year old camera, if its been well taken care of you should feel safe to buy or sell at the going rate. If the camera was heavily beat up I would expect the shutter count to be on the higher side, but I would actually be more worried about other wear and tear like the lens mount or card reader connections where you would start getting connectivity errors that would make it unusable. If I was buying a 2 year old top end body worth $6000 bucks i may be curious if the pro selling it put 200k clicks on the shutter in a very short time, but otherwise, overall condition is about as telling as anything else. Count doesn't even take into effect how many hours the M3 may have spent with shutter open recording video, which would be something to consider if the owner was a vlogger, which these cameras are popular for.

I am still trying to understand why the original post enquired about the 2000D and then discussion changed to the M3 :(
