This month's photo topic is "Same but different" - Two or more things that are the same but differ, ie a horse shoe and a high heel shoe, or a large rock and a small rock/stone, a group of birds with each one being a different breed etc

    Happy shooting!
    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

    The same but different.

    Such as mist.

Sunrise and morning mist. Nice colours, and a very still start to the day.

Off I go comet hunting last night, (don't ask), I turn around to look at where the moon is at, and I see the fog starting to form. Same sort of mist, just very different lighting. The moon is just to the left side of this image.

Canon RP and a couple of Sigma lenses.

Whilst sat at my desk pondering the February Challenge I noticed a reflection of the back wall in my monitor. I grabbed my camera and captured what I saw. :D Thumb Tacks.jpg
Hmm, I almost got three selfies in the process.

Roscoe ,Oh, the shame, the horror, a Nikon on the Canon Forum, not to worry . I have a Nikon D300 a D200, D100 and a D70. Plus a rather cool F90X with battery pack. I am a camera horder by nature and no wife to nag me about it, a nice idea for this month's topic.

Gary, thank you for sending us the incredible landscapes of New Zealand's South Island.
Great idea with the pictures of the thistle. I discovered that the popular name in the English-speaking world is Welsh thistle and that it is their national plant. Here in Spain, the common name is borriquero thistle, but it comes from the Greek: όνόπoρδoν, from όνό «donkey» and πορδον «fart», which means Winds of the Donkey. There is a saying that goes: “A hungry donkey eats thistles.”
In some areas of Spain they are eaten, for example in Aragon in some places it is the first course at Christmas lunch or dinner.

Keith , well done there are several types of thumbtacks that fill the photo frame.

Ohm, the image reflected in the mirror fits the theme for me because it reverses the sides of the figure and leaves a nice overall image.

Craig, good interpretation of the theme due to the two views of Bell Street, in which different subjects are seen passing by that place.

Roscoe, it seems that different cameras serve the same purpose. It remains to be seen which is best, or whether it is up to the photographer or those who view and judge the results.

The plastic straw, I remember when I was little, the cereal straws, properly cut, were narrower than many plastics, my father preferred the natural ones, because they were cheaper and once used they were thrown away.
There now seems to be a movement in Europe to phase out plastic straws for environmental grounds reasons, despite the fact that they are now much cheaper today than natural straws. Zumo de Mandarina.jpg
