Abstract What's the time?

    What's the time? Canon EOS 20D, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 II IS STM, 1/400, f8, ISO 400. Orton Effect applied in Photoshop CC 2018.

    60D,350D 1dmark3, T70, AV1, lenses ranging from 28mm to 600 mm, canonet Junior, Canonet QL 25, Mamiya C3 and 3 lens sets,Mamiya 645 pro TL and 3 lenses.Mamiya universal press camera and 4 lenses, Mamiya RB67 Pro S and 5 lenses, Pentax MG and various lenses, Toyoview 4 * 5 inch large format camera,Calimat C1 8*10 inch ultra large format camera.
    neat photo but what is the orton effect ? Is that a mask used in conjunction with a layer or a tool.

    The Orton Effect is a method of applying a subtle blur to an image to give it a dreamy quality. It is often applied with a preset but these are usually not adjustable. This one was applied in Photoshop using the technique described here: http://www.shutterevolve.com/create-orton-effect-photoshop/

    You can also download his Easy Panel which includes Orton Effect as a preset but I prefer to do it in Photoshop so you have complete control.

    Well done, sir. Very nice touch. The time appears to be 3:30PM. I think. Thanks, Tony. They could not use sun dials after dark, so how did they find out what the time was? Tony

    I have never heard of this before but after looking at what you have here and what I have now seen on you tube I have a few landscapes and portraits that I will try it on.
    For the next week or so I will be some-what engrossed in photoshop.

    Hi Craig, I am glad that I have ben able to tell you about something new. Orton Effect works better on some images than others but you won't know until you try. I look forward to seeing what you produce. I have no used it a lot so I am just starting out too.
