Loquats do quite well in Southern California, although they may be at its northern limits.

    Neat photo, the yellow really stands out but what are loquats ?

    Nice of you to inquire Craig, loquats are a fruit tree that originated in Chine somewhere. The are a peachy/apricot-like smallish fruit, sweet/tart/tangy/juicy and tasty fruit.I like it.

    I have seen something similar in my neighbor's back yard only noticed it this morning they were a green colour , I would not know what they taste like, unlucky for the neighbor a flock of Sulfur Crested cockatoos landed in the tree and stripped all the fruit off of it.
