the leaf stands out nicely, I would like to make one comment and that is use a half to two stops of less light as I think this would cut the highlights down a bit. Look at the tips of the leaf and the leaf above and to the right or if you used a flash us a light modifier to do the same thing. You don't need any expensive modifiers, use a plastic container or even some curtain material wrapped around the flash as this will do the job. In all the idea was a excellent one, the shot has turned out well .

    Good point Craig.

Because I the lighting was a tad tricky, and I didn't have my hand held light meter with me, I just took a series of shots in manual exposure, and bracketed the shots. Plus, a lot of looking at the histogram. But here is another one.

But good spotting, and thanks for the constructive comments.

I hope y'all don't mind that this image wasn't taken on a Canon. It was taken last Wednesday (17 October) in Sydney's Royal Botanic Garden and is doing very well on Flickr and I am very happy. :)

Thanks a lot, Craig. It has really taken off on Flickr and I am feeling quite chuffed.

Here is one for you guys setting up a darkroom.
These coffee mugs were sold in camera stores back in the 70s and 80s. They came with three rolls of Ilford 35mm film - 1 X FP4, 1 X HP5 and 1 X XP2. Back in those days I preferred Ilford to Kodak, probably because that is what I learned on.
And I am happy to say that they are still available today: https://www.ilfordphoto.com/black-white-film/35mm-film

    Canon EOS-1Ds, Canon EF 75-300mm @ 210mm, f/11, 1/2 sec, ISO 100, 2/3 stop underexposure.
