I am pretty new to this place. As some will know, this city was hit by a series of earthquakes that done some major damage. As far as I know, they got various people to make the place look a little nicer after various buildings had been demolished by painting on the exposed building walls. As new buildings are being built, some of these murals are disappearing. So before they are no more, I managed to get a chance to wonder around the city center on foot with camera in hand. We have driven past a lot of this and seen the paintings, so I have taken the chance to get out and snap away. More to follow, Gary
Thanks for sharing those, Gary. Some people are so clever and artistic when just using a spray can. That street art should really lift the spirits of both the population and the visitors. We have some areas in Sydney where every blank wall or garage door is covered in street art. Never on the main street, just in the back streets. And most of it is very well done. I look forward to seeing more from you.
Thanks Ray, I have grabbed a few more yesterday, so there are going to a number to add over the next few weeks. Gary
Yeah, I like what they done with the car. I also saw this on the same day. Not street art, but I did have a laugh to myself. Gary
That one is very detailed and quite clever. If you would like to see some of the street art in Newtown, Sydney have a look here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/rayallen/albums/72157666425560484
