Macro Focus Stacking

My first attempt at focus stacking. Pentax K-3, Tamron SP AF 90mm F2.8 Di Macro 1:1, Manfrotto 454 Micro-Positioning Sliding Plate, Manfrotto tripod. 22 JPG images in the stack processed with Photoshop CC.

Nice work Ray, I haven't used Photoshop for stacking, I use CombineZP, my version of Photoshop is CS. I'll have to look and see if that feature is available in CS.

 

If you have CS6 you should be able to do it. Here is how to do it in CS6:

Looks good Ray. Any thoughts on how good is this technique for landscape photography.

I haven't tried it for landscape photography but I have read that it is quite effective.
For the above shot I used a Manfrotto 454 focusing rail and 22 images but I would not do that for a landscape shot as fewer images are required. I would just mount my camera on a tripod and, without moving the camera as I did above, I would just focus on the foreground, middle ground and background (infinity) and merge those three images. I must give it a try. Thanks for asking.
