I bought my first dSLR last year, a Canon EOS Rebel T6, which came with the typical 18-55mm Kit Lens as well as the 75-300mm Lens. I just recently purchased two more lenses, the 'Nifty Fifty' 50mm f1/8 STM lens as well as the 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 STM. I recently started taking a short photography class (3 hour and half sessions) to learn more about the workings of a dSLR camera, and using it in manual. I have been having a lot of fun learning how to better use the camera to get the shot I am looking for, and looking forward to learning even more about photography.
Welcome and hope that you can share your experiences. How do you like the 50mm f1.8 lens? It is on my radar.
So far I like it! The 50mm (as well as the 10-18mm) were my first lenses that have STM feature on them. Autofocus is great, it is quick and very quiet. Manual focus is focus by wire, which does take a little getting used to. Being a prime lens, the optics on the lens are very good. I have noticed the photos I have taken do appear more crisp than what I have taken with the kit lens.
Mike, thank you very much for your response. Glad to hear that it works for you. It just got bumped up the list of items to get.
