I wouldn't be so presumptuous as to start a new thread just about myself, especially when I don't have anything to share yet, but it is nice to be welcomed, and to say hello, so, hi there! Have been a rather infrequent visitor at Pentax forums, but jumped at the chance for a Canon one I don't use the poor camera as often as I should, so hoping that this will spur me now!
Hello. I have a couple of Canon ultra compacts (700 series), a Compact 10x zoom IS 110, and a very old 6mp D60 DSLR. Have 4 or 5 Canon EOS lenses. Need a new body. Thanks barondla
everybody should post a reply on this thread instead making new thread all over subforum btw, got here from pentaxforum.. just a silent reader there.. and maybe here too . I had used canon 100D as a backup for my Fuji, most of the time i used manual lenses like pentax-M or Takumar family. it is nice to joint a new forum... regards from Japan Dawa
Hi Phil Nice to meet you! I came from the Pentax forums. I have a couple of Canon compacts. Looking forward to seeing your new forum blossom. - DeeDee
So pleased to get the email today saying that canonforums is starting up. I've been quite frequent "trolling" through pentaxforums (a wealth of good info on there). I could not really post up my shots or such as i don't have a pentax cam. So this is most welcoming Thanks Phil & whosoever else is involved !! Very happy here. Ps. Would this forum also try to cover the old manual focus lenses or adapt the same database over from PF ?
Thanks for all the support everyone! Also it is in the longterm plan to add some similar features here. In the case of the lens database, that is not a simple "copy & paste" since we are using different platforms. It would have to be developed mostly from scratch! Stay tuned.
Hello (Canon) world! The PowerShot S100 P&S is a trusty backup / travel companion. Love the manual controls. It's currently on loan to my brother-in-law who will surely lose it on his Euro trip
Hi Phil. Hi everyone. I have been a Pentax user for many years, both film and digital. I joined the Pentax Forum some time ago but unfortunately haven't been able to spend as much time there as I would wish to. Recently I picked up a Canon EOS 300D at a junk sale thinking to sell it on, but during the testing out I found I quite liked the camera. Yes it's aged with low pixel and uses compact flash but the images impressed me. So it stayed with me and gets used quite often. Now I have picked up an EOS 600D that I am having serviced and repaired and can't wait to get it into action. So when the email popped into my inbox yesterday inviting me to join the new Canon Forum, well, I knew things were starting to look up again. I didn't have the time to sign up there and then but today I do, so here I am. Looking forward to many happy and informative visits and making new friends. From Armadale, Western Australia. Cheers. Howz.
Hello from Baltimore! When I was a beginner, the Pentax Forums were a wonderful help to me with such a great community. Probably the most welcoming and kind forum I ever participated in. I had joined in 2010. When I upgraded from entry-level gear (K-x) to pro gear in 2015, I made the switch to Canon by purchasing a 7D Mk II for shooting equestrian sports. I also focus on food photography. I recently acquired a 5D Mk III and want to get more into portraiture since it is a great way to get extra jobs, but I'm working on my confidence with that and need to learn more posing. As an introvert, I am definitely more comfortable shooting horses and food versus people, haha. Also, I primarily make my living with web design and development. I need to get out there more with my photography services. Cheers, Cass
very nice...i especially like your article "lens reviews & why they suck"...clean & to the point best wishes
