I just purchased an EOS-3 and am learning all its parts. In the LCD panel, the very middle bar of the film and battery indicator (directly below the "0" of the exposure compensation scale) is blinking. I have no idea what this means and can't seem to find it in the manual. Can someone help? Thanks!
Thanks for the quick reply! I have the manual and this was the first page I reference. But the bar in question is not highlighted as anything special. The red arrow in the screenshot is pointing to the bar that is flashing.
If I remember correctly, the battery condition indicator works like this; 3 bars on solid.....fully charged 2 bars on solid.....1/2 charge 1 bar on solid.......1/4 charge 1 bar flashing.......almost expired. bc (elsewhere on the display......change battery. Hope that helps Bob
I don't have experience with the specific camera but it seems to me that it is indicating that the exposure is not over or under exposed. Flashing instead of steady burn probably means that it's not quite register right at zero.
It would help an actual capture of the screen, with the other informations displayed... You can't diagnose without that.
I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the battery check function. As I've stated, I've gone through the manual. Here's a link to a quick, 4-second video illustrating the blinking in question.
It makes more sense after seeing the video. You're in auto exposure mode "P" on the screen and the flashing icon is showing you that you've not got any EC dialed in....see page 29 of your manual. Bob
Mystery solved, but found on page 75! Thanks @Bob L for pointing me in the right direction. The bar that flashes is used to indicate what your exposure is set to. When you dial in exposure compensation, the flashing bar moves to the corresponding +/-. Thanks to all who responded!
