February Monthly Challenge - "Holes"

i keep the cut-offs from copper pipe as i will then cut down the center and flatten it out into a square to make copper roses or other random copper items,
I made my girlfriend two in-twinned for our 7th year together.
The stems are made from copper brake pipe, the usual method in copper rose construction is to solder the petal rings to the stems, but i had a great idea to use a brake line flaring tool to upset the pipe under the last petal ring then hammer the top of the pipe down like when you do a rivet so the whole lot is a compression fit rather than solder (i dont have any real gas torch atm)

 

Here's my first contribution for this month.
This is part of an ornament on the table on my rear patio. Canon 20D, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 II IS STM, +3 close up lens filter.

Tasmania is a island state so nature supplied us with a dirty great moat around us. Handy for stopping people from sneaking across the border.
The virus level is very low at the moment. We are back to normal with travel and movement around the state.

I shot it with 3x30mm

 

do you also shoot speed restriction signs at the correct value focal too? i find that a giggle

 

"The hole maker"
similar concept to Gregorey's concept of 'hole being born' i shot this on the 3rd of February solely with the intent of using it for holes.

I tend to ignore speed restriction signs, I don't find them very aesthetically pleasing

Errrrrmmmmm, today is St Valentines day, my guess is that February is the month of LOVE. Love is an anagram of Vole and Vole rhymes with Hole the subject of this months comp???!!!
