in my case it was a Power Shot A450 https://www.dpreview.com/products/canon/compacts/canon_a450 it was a very nice camera, over the 5000 pictures and a lot of movies were taken. some day it was exposed to the high power radar radiation and now it useless. it was replaced by A1200
Mine is a SX 230HS, fantastic performance from that camera! bought it way back in the year 2011-2012. still going strong!!
my first canon compact was an A620. i researched like mad before asking for it for christmas, and i learned a lot while using it, as previously i knew nothing about aperture, shutter speed or ISO. somewhere along the line i realized i needed more zoom to shoot what i wanted to shoot and gave the camera to my daughter and moved to a fuji bridge camera with a handy manual zoom before moving to a 30D.
Canon A430... now it will overexpose every image to the maximum, where you can only see the edges of the objects in the scene. But continues to make movies at correct exposure. Go figure! Great image quality for such a small sensor, and also very good macro shots. My first was an A570. I really liked the control interface. I passed it on to my son when I upgraded to a G11. Currently I am using an S95, which I absolutly love. Canon has the best compact cameras.
My first was an A400, then moved up to an A430, which still works. Still currently using an SD450, and SD1100 IS. Canon makes good p&s's
google says the A620 sensor size is 1/1.8" (7.144 x 5.358 mm) while the SX50 sensor size is 1/2.3 inch (6.2mm x 4.6mm), so only a tiny bit bigger. and i laughed when i saw the specs on canon's website - ISO 50/100/200/400 here's one reference to the size https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canona620
