Good morning I have a 90d and when I use it with the Sigma f2.8 24-70 lens it seems to be prone to the shots being over exposed. Does not happen when attached to my 7d mk2 .I have to adjust setting a lot to get summat decent. Is there a firmware update that would correct this as I,ve been lead to believe? Many thanks.
Just that lens on the 90d? Seems very odd. can you post a non adjusted settings example? AKA reset everything back to normal.
Hello Tootall, I had a similar issue with a Canon EOS Rebel t5 (great little workhorse) and a Sigma 70~300mm AF APO DG lens. At first outing the images turned out beautifully and then suddenly everything went South. Images would turn out overexposed and became even more overexposed the more I stopped down the lens and seriously overexposed when the lens was stopped down all the way. I took the lens in for examination and they reported that back then it was typical of Sigma to produce products that were inconsistent in their performance. At that point I offered the lens to the shop for parts and they refused my offer. I know that today's Sigma lenses are stellar performers however, they do come with stellar prices. As for me, I never purchased another third party anything and will stick with Canon OEM. The only other alternative would be to perhaps consider Tamron as they do offer and abide by their five year warranty as opposed to a one year. Hope this helps and thanks for reading. Tony
Just a couple of thoughts. Have you tried cleaning the lens contacts on both the camera body and the lens? Also, what is the firmware version that is installed on your camera? With a very quick look around on the net, and the newest version looks as if it is V1.1.1. If you are not using the newest version, I would look at doing the update. Gary
johnset Tonytee Gdn. Good morning folks and thankyou for your replies.Think I've sorted things.Have just tried an 18-135 kit lens on the 90D.Fired off a few shots and none have shown as over exposed without altering any camera settings.Leads me to believe it may be a possible firmware issue with the 24-70. Going out to do some more shots to further test/confirm Camera firmware is 1.1.1. Waiting on a Sigma usb dock to update the 24-70.. Thankyou again
