Hello all, first post. I recently bought the Canon 70d and borrowed a 60mm lens but for some reason the autofocus does not work. Online it does say compatable but it does not seem to work. I have tried my friend's lens so I know the camera works and the 60mm also worked on his camera. Any ideas. Many thanks
Is the lens the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens? There are multiple of 60mm lenses that can mount to the camera, I made an assumption on which one it could be since I was not given the lens model. That said, if the lens works for him most likely it is one of 2 things.... user error, or it could be dirty contacts on the camera. Is the AF/MF switch off? If it is set to MF the auto focus will not work, since this is a macro lens it is possible that it was switched to manual focus.
Welcome to the forum, Dean. As for your lens issue, I have nothing to add as Johnsey is very switched on when it come to these things.
Thanks for reply, yes it is the ef-s ultrasonic, the lens ewor Hi tha ks for reply, the lens is the ef-s ultrasonic. It worked perfect on a friend's r6 and he had a 85mm which worked perfect on mine so assume contacts are all OK. It works fine in manual, the af just doesn't change
