Hello. I have been shooting pictures of my sons athletic events for the last two years. Have been pretty happy with the results. I discussed upgrading my Camera From a Nikon 750. My wife bought me the newEOS 1dx mark3. She also got me two lenses, 24-70 2.8 and 100-400 4.5-5.6. I’ve been shooting basketball recently and my pictures are grainy. Not out of focus. I’ve worked with shutter speed from 800 all the way to 1600. F-stop from 2.6 and up. No problem with the lighting. But they’re just not sharp. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. George
Seems your implying a few issues and mixed feedback on what they are. Sharpness would be directly related to focusing, you may be soft due to a lens back focusing if the camera thinks it is sharp. Grainy can be tack sharp.... it is of course a completely different issue. Under exposure even a little bit can become noticeable at higher ISO, that said your 1dx3 should perform spectacularly compared to anything you have had before. Example images are very helpful, if you want t post them here or drop a raw file in one drive and share a link those can give us an idea what your working with. I also assume your working with the highest res settings: https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART176321
