LCD lights up but displays no information. Camera appears to be completely fine otherwise and from within the viewfinder I can adjust and see the most essential settings but without the LCD I have no access to most basic or custom functions. Any help or assistance in this matter would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, Tyler, a fault like this comes down to how much you like the camera, getting it serviced and repaired will cost, that is if the parts are available, now compare this to a replacement camera and sell the old one for parts.

I'm leaning towards that, it appears that for parts this model gets between $150-200 and a perfectly working body is about $300. I only got this for $50 so I probably will just flip it to contribute to a better condition body. The EOS 3 is the perfect camera for me in terms of price and features. The 1V is a little too pricey for a very minor upgrade over the EOS 3 in my opinion. I appreciate the reply, hopefully though if someone does have a DIY hack I can do that. Literally everything still works with the camera and as I toggle between settings it seems to work fine I just can't see what I'm doing. Even as is a film camera that only shoots in program at 1/8000th of a second for $50 isn't the worst thing haha. My only issue is with pushing rolls and overriding the dx code. I can't see what ISO that I'm changing the roll to. If I can just figure that out I may keep it. I don't need a ton of custom functions, this was likely going to be more a sports camera for me anyway, i.e. more program. I bought it for the outstanding autofocus and that still works great.

I have never used the EOS 3, I have some canonet models, Canon TX with a FL 55 F1.2 lens ( This lens lives on this camera), AE 1 Program, Canon T70, Canon EOS 10 and a 1000F, FD and FL lenses ranging from 28mm to 150 to 600mm. Of the film models in my collection, my favorite is the T70. It is a sweet little camera with no dials and doodats all over it. Unfortunately I must admit my favorite lenses a re M42 mount lenses etc. I use a M42 to FD adapter. They all work fine on the Canon SLR cameras. I volunteer in a Vinnies store or commonly known as a ophop. I purchase all the non functioning cameras and do what I can to repair or do maintenance on them. This also leads to me having a large variety of other camera brands such as Pentax, Minolta and dare I say it Nikon. My darkroom is under construction at the moment but has come to temporary halt. Should start up again soon.

I use a fair amount of m42 lenses as well, I mostly prefer using the russian copies of zeiss glass and some of the faster vivitar wide primes (24/28 f2). Not a super huge fan of takumar/pentax lenses. Never shot with Minoltas so my judgements would only be off other's images. When I shoot with m42 glass I don't use a canon, I have a praktica fx2 that is pretty much as bare bones as it gets but is nifty because it's a 35mm that has a waist level finder. Perfect for street photography.

I do not do a lot of street photography but when I do I find that a conventional camera layout has a different reaction from those people you wish to interact with compared to a more interesting camera layout such as one with a waist level finder, I have a Mamiya C3 with 3 lens sets. The one drawback to this camera is the weight as my camera come with a cord camera strap which cut into my neck after a while, I have gotten around this issue by using a padded strap off of a camera bag.
