Hello everyone. I was looking for a small monitor to attach to my Canon 500D. The camera's monitor is too small, and I find it inconvenient. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you,See you soon.
I'm sure that the external HDMI for video screens will work, cheap ones may not be very reliable for color balance. I can't imagine adding something like that to the camera setup so I never have tried any of them out. It is an earlier model camera as far as compatibility but HDMI is HDMI, i just dunno what your usage is, the hdmi port was meant for play back mode to connect to tv. Not for live view or anything like that at least back then.

Honestly I shoot raw, and I have it set to display histogram as well as image. Generally as long as it looks pretty close, and I am not clipping data on the histogram, the rest can be fixed in post so I'm looking at the image for maybe a sec to gauge exposure, the size doesn't matter that much to me there. I had a tiny display on my 20d, but yeah, have got larger over time, and I came from film and you don't know what you got till you hit the darkroom so...any display was nice. https://www.adorama.com/alc/read-and-use-a-histogram-in-photography/ Also noted i shoot using the view finder to photograph i almost never shoot using liveview. 30 years of muscle memory there.
I have a vision problem which makes manual focusing with the live view challenging. I have been looking at the Accsoon Seemo monitor. It look quite good and not too expensive here in the UK. Unfortunately I cannot find any reviews that do not seem too bias. Maybe someone on this forum has used one and can make a comment
